Joint action plans of the GUAM membersâ€™ diplomatic representations in international organizations were coordinated â€“ <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku â€“ APA. The 20th meeting of GUAM National Coordinators Council was held in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. APA reports quoting the GUAMâ€™s website that GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Alexander Gorin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia David Jalagania and Moldovaâ€™s ambassador to Ukraine attended the meeting.

The coordinators discussed urgent issues on the organizationâ€™s activity, political, interparliamentary cooperation, GUAMâ€™s relations with other countries and organizations. The Council offered to exchange views on the conflicts in GUAM area, supported Georgiaâ€™s initiative to put forward draft resolution on GUAM-UN cooperation, coordinated the projects on the joint action plans of the GUAM membersâ€™ diplomatic representations in other international organizations.

The national coordinators also supported the proposals on development of action mechanism of the working organ coordinating the activity of the sides in implementing the provisions of the agreement on establishment of free trade zone dating back to May 20, 2002, project on rules of determining the countries, where products are made, in line with the standards of the World Trade Organization, initiative on holding Investment Forum, next meeting of GUAM Business Council and competition â€œGUAMâ€™s best bank - 2010â€.

The Council adopted the report on the implementation of the action plan of the working group on emergency situations for 2010 and action for 2011, recommended to pass a decision to set up a joint commission on the issue of cooperation in warning about the emergency situations and in eliminating their consequences.

Prospects of GUAMâ€™s cooperation with the US, Japan, Visegrad countries, Baltic and Scandinavian countries and international organizations were discussed during the meeting.
Contract was signed at the meeting between GUAM and the supplier company on the delivery of the devices of cryptographic protection of information in the channels of communication.
The national coordinators considered the issues and coordinated the draft documents of the 13th meeting of the GUAM Foreign Ministers Council to be held within the framework of OSCEâ€™s Astana summit.
