Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev named “Person of Year†in Romania

The award ceremony is held every year since 2000. The persons having special merits in politics, economy, human rights, culture are awarded. Heads of state and government, public, political figures from South-East Europe have been awarded by the magazine up to now. The jury consisting of the persons of influence in political, economic, social and cultural spheres and representatives of nongovernmental organizations, mass media, independent experts passed a decision unanimously to name Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev “Person of Year 2010â€. The jury grounded its decision by the achievements of Azerbaijani President in political, economic, scientific, cultural and humanitarian spheres, President’s attention to the development of Romania-Azerbaijan relations, progress of both nations and the Caspian and Black Sea region, AGRI project (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania-Hungary Interconnector), which will result in the efficient solution of the energy problems of Western Europe, is its splendid example.
