Congressman Michael E. McMahon favors US Senate decision

Washington. Isabel Levin – APA. US Congressman Michael E. McMahon favors decision of U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which approves the nomination of the Ex-co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Matthew Bryza, as the U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan, APA’s Washington DC correspondent reports with reference to congressman’s office.

“In the struggle against terror Azerbaijan is the inalienable partner of the USA. Besides it, Azerbaijan is the major global energy corridor in this region. Since 2009 there is no U.S. ambassador in Baku. There must be the U.S. representative in this country – said Michael E. McMahon”.

The congressman expressed his content with US Senate approval related to Matthew Bryza’s nomination who did a lot for South Caucasian region: “I hope, all Senate members will bolster up this nomination and won’t endanger US interests in this region”.
