Political analyst Cyril Tanayev: â€œAzerbaijan and Armenia should settle the conflict themselves and not to rely on a third sideâ€

He said Armenia and Azerbaijan were strategic partners of Russia and opening of their borders and restoration of the economic relations would be in the interests of Moscow. â€œThe Russiaâ€™s duty is to help to find compromises and to reduce tensions. It is clear that everyone wants this conflict to be solved soon, but it is impossible. Russia is not only member of the OSCE Minsk Group, which makes important contribution to the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It needs not to break the dialogue. President Medveded participates in the trilateral meetings between the presidents and these talks are in favor of both bilateral relations and solution to the conflict. However Azerbaijan and Armenia should settle the conflict themselves and not rely on a third sideâ€.

Cyril Tanayev said the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict was a long way and it should be solved peacefully. â€œThe experience of the past 20 years showed that it is impossible to solve the conflicts through the military way. Different blockades donâ€™t resolve the problems. This is a difficult problem and there is no recipe of its solutionâ€.
