US-Turkish relations, their influence on the regionâ€™s processes to be discussed in Washington

Washington. Isabel Levin-APA. US-Turkish relations and their influence on the regionâ€™s processes will be discussed at a conference in Washington DC, APAâ€™s US correspondent reported.

The conference, â€œOvercoming Turbulence in U.S.-Turkish Relations and Countering Ankara’s Strategic Driftâ€, will be held at the Heritage Foundation on September 21. It will discuss the US-Turkish relations, the role of the two countries in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, the dispute over the events of 1915 and the Turkish-Armenian relations.

Among the main speakers are Ariel Cohen, Senior Research Fellow, Sally McNamara, Senior Policy Analyst, European Affairs, James Phillips, Senior Research Fellow for Middle Eastern Affairs, Ted Bromund, Senior Research Fellow.

The conference will as well discuss Turkey as a NATO member, US and Turkish interests in the South Caucasus, Middle East, Iran certain part of it will be dedicated to Turkish-European relations.
Media, embassiesâ€™ representatives and various experts on the issue will attend the conference.
