OSCE Minsk Group co-chairsâ€™ position infuriates Armenians

Especially French co-chair replied the questions. But his answers did not satisfied Armenian journalists. They called this dialogue as â€œfaulty image of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairsâ€. We inform you on Fassierâ€™s dialogue with journalists by quoting Armtoday agency.

At the beginning of his speech Fassier noted that they crossed the contact line coming directly from Baku and it was and incident of itself: â€œI am a mediator already 6 years, and always wanted to do this. It is already 9th time that we visit the region. Fortunately, it is possible nowâ€. Armenian journalists got surprised when Fassier called this incident as good fortune. They asked a question â€œWhat is the fortune in this situationâ€, Fassier noted the importance of reaching agreement from Baku, Yerevan and Khankandi. Fassier then spoke about meetings held in Khakandi: â€œWe have not finished our visit yet. We will make a statement after meeting with Armenian officials in Yerevanâ€.

Interestinf part of the dialogue between Fassier and journalists began form here. To the question of Armenian journalist â€œThere was information about monitoring on the border with Karabakhâ€, Fassier answered: â€œIt was not a monitoring, it was a crossing of a contact line. We have not crossed the border, we crossed the contact line. We must show that it is not a borderâ€. At that time Armenian journalist got angry and tried to say that contact line is a border for Armenians.

The French co-chair did not paid attention to journalistâ€™s cue.

And then Armenian journalist tried to attract attention to recent activeness on the contact line, but the mediator said they had made a statement related to it before the visit.

Then there was one more saboteur question from Armenian journalist: â€œIn that statement you addressed all sides for observing the ceasefire. Nevertheless, everyone knows that ceasefire is disturbed by Azerbaijani sideâ€.

But Fassier did not agree with this position, said that these words were only complaints and recommended Armenian journalist to read the statement made on September 6 attentively.

After this the French diplomat did not answer any question.

Note that, Fassierâ€™s position infuriated Armenian journalists so that they wrote (â€œNo Commentâ€) at the end of the dialogue.

Remind that, within the framework of the visit to the region the mediators met with Azerbaijani officials on September7, then on September 8 held negotiations with leader of separatists in Khankandi. And today the co-chairs will meet with Armenian officials in Yerevan.
