Araz Azimov: "There is no any issue about opening of Turkey-Armenia border in connection with NATO exercises"

According to him, talks about opening of Turkey-Armenia border are the fruits of someoneâ€™s political speculation. "There was planning for upcoming activities of NATO and partner countries in Armenia. In planning conferences the issue of opening the border was not discussed. As a result of discussions, there are plans about the arrival of compounds of NATO partner countries from Turkey to the Georgia direction and to Armenia by airway. But there is no any issue about passage of NATO partner countriesâ€™ compounds through Turkey to Armenia. In any case, there is no any issue about opening of Turkey-Armenia borderâ€, - Azimov said.

Speaking about the possible deployment of Turkish military bases on the territory of Azerbaijan Azimov said that Turkey has always supported Azerbaijan. "Our relations have strategic nature. These relations developed until today and there is opportunity to develop these. If the issue is about signing military protocols between Azerbaijan and Turkey, agreements, contracts and protocols that creates circumstance for to solve necessary issues have signed and this process is continuingâ€. The issue of â€œcan Turkey deploy its military base in the territory of Azerbaijanâ€ depends on the intentions, desires of Azerbaijan and readiness of Turkey. Currently, there is no such issue", - deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan said.
