Azerbaijani Interior Minister receives NATO Secretary Generalâ€™s Special Representative Robert Simmons

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov has today received the delegation led by NATO Secretary Generalâ€™s Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons, the ministryâ€™s press service told APA.

Welcoming the guests, Interior Minister gave information about the fulfillment of the tasks of the Interior Ministry in connection with the order issued in 1997 by Azerbaijani President on â€œMeasures to strengthen the cooperation of Azerbaijan Republic with NATOâ€.

It was noted that basing on the principle of indivisibility of Euro-Atlantic security Azerbaijan participates in the NATO-led peacekeeping operations sanctioned with the resolutions of the UN Security Council. Our country is attentively following the further development of the partnership with NATO and trying to make contribution to it.

Robert Simmons expressed his gratitude for sincere reception, underlined active participation of our country in NATOâ€™s peacekeeping mission and extension of the cooperation with the organization. He underlined that such meetings contribute to developing mutual relations.
