UN appoints Resident Coordinator for Azerbaijan

On June 12, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Fikret Akcura.

Fikret Akcura expressed his satisfaction with his appointment as the UN Resident Coordinator for Azerbaijan and said there is large potential for the development of the cooperation between the UN and Azerbaijan. He said he will do his best for successful and efficient implementation of the UN programs.

Elmar Mammadyarov congratulated Fikret Akcura on his appointment as the UN Resident Coordinator for Azerbaijan and wished him success.

Fikret Akcura has been working in the UN structures for approximately 25 years. He had been UN representative for Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
