According to APA’s special correspondent in Venice, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told it journalists.

The Minister noted that if the Armenian side will show a sincere desire to reach the promotion process, and does not seek by all means to prolong time, we are ready for another meeting with them.

“We want Armenian leadership to show similar tendency for to progress and promote lasting for 2 years the process of intensive negotiations”, - he told.

Minister told that "We hope the co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group will submit our position to Armenia and if there is a need to hold other meeting, it is possible ".

On the possibility of holding regular meetings at the level of Heads of State, the Minister noted that at the last meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents held in Sochi it was proposed to declare a pause in the meetings. “Because after introduction Madrid Principles in Athens, this meeting did not produce forthcoming results. Everybody thought that the document which work was carried out for 2 years will create opportunities for starting a basic document, but I have to note with regret that could not achieve agreement with Armenian side”.

Mammadyarov notified that in accordance with some reasons the co-chairs suggested break in negotiations, but this break lasts too long. “I understand that the co-chairs have a desire to intensify the negotiating process, because a document is ready, have been prepared by three co-chairmen, and is on the negotiation table. I repeatedly say that this document does not fall from the sky, it has been agreed with sides within two years. It is not accidental that 6 basic principles of that document were stressed at the G8 Summit which had been held in Italy with participation the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. This reflects common and unified position of the co-chairs. We acquainted and worked on this document and in principle there is nothing new for us” - the minister said.

Minster told that except some nuances which is suggested to work on it, if we say by football term “the ball is on the Armenian side”. “I think because of it now Armenian side has to determine its position. The general situation is so that the Co-Chairs have to submit our current position to the Armenian side. Then the co-chairs will discuss the over-all situation and after it is possible they will propose new motions”, he said.

Azerbaijani FM recalled Turkey’s membership of the OSCE Minsk Group since its inception regarding to the possibility of Turkey’s participation in the negotiations as co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group.

“On principle Turkey is a member of the OSCE Minsk Group since 1992. If you look through the documents you can see that Turkey has been noted as one of members and founders of the OSCE Minsk Group at the resolution of Permanent Council” – Minister told.

While speaking about Matthew Bryza’s appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Minister Mammadyarov said: “Azerbaijan has consented to the appointment of Matthew Bryza U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan. Now they themselves have to decide it, and have to be hearings in Senate”

Azerbaijani FM did not agree with opinion about problems between Azerbaijan and US. relations. “There is no any problem in the relations between Azerbaijan and the U.S.. It is enough to see a list of dignitaries from the U.S. who have visited and will visit Azerbaijan” - Mammadyarov said.
