-Rivers have overflowed in Azerbaijan recently. The natural disaster is linked to the water drain by Iran above the norm from Khudaferin water storage.

-We are Azerbaijanâ€™s neighbor, our border is about 700km. The heads of our state have done much for the development of the relations. I think if we want friendliness and sincerity everywhere, be sure that enemies immediately take action. They want to turn this sincerity into crisis, confrontation, malice. Wise persons will never allow it. Those who want to damage Iran-Azerbaijan relations use various ways. But it is impossible to achieve it easily. Iran has wise, intelligent leaders. We will use economic, cultural and political factors to bring our people together. Iran recognizes Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity, has always supported Azerbaijan in Karabakh issue on the international level. There maybe divergence between the two countries in some spheres, but it will not damage or weaken the relations.

As regards the water drain above the norm from Khudaferin water storage, President of Melioration and Water Management OJSC Ahmad Ahmadzadeh has already said that there is no problem from Iran, and we state that the water drain was normal. The Azerbaijani side has observed the process and confirmed.

21 years have passed since the founder of the Iran Islamic revolution Imam Khomeini died. Following his path we have made Iran one of the developed countries in the world. The countries cooperating with us, including Azerbaijan have always been satisfied with the relations.

-21 years have passed since the leader of the Iran Islamic revolution died. What can you say about the foreign policy pursued by him?

-Imam Khomeini was an exemplary person in the history after the Islam prophets and imams. Those who are familiar with his views, thoughts and books know that he did not only belong to the Iranian people, but also to the whole Islamic world and mankind. He loved all people, he wanted restoration of justice among the people. I know that he was not introduced in a proper manner. Late Imam Khomeini was very sensitive in protection of honor and dignity of the people. He was saying that a man is a representative of Allah on earth. There are no differences between the people. They differ from each other only for their education, faith and skills.

Leader of the revolution wrote books about supremacy of human and independence from passion. He had very valuable works. He saved Iran from Shahâ€™s regime. A criminality, oppression, disturbance and tyranny dominated in the country during Shahâ€™s regime. U.S. and other foreign forces misappropriated Iranâ€™s resources. Khomeini saved Iranian citizens from this crisis and returned it values.

The leader of revolution insisted in the independence of countries in his foreign policy. He advocated for protection of territorial integrity of the countries. Powerful countries shouldnâ€™t trample on little countries and shouldnâ€™t occupy territories of other countries.
Imam Khomeini was against the use of force. He considered that power should be used only for making the people wiser. He brought a new breath to Iran.

-What do you think about Israeli attack on humanitarian aid convoy heading to Gaza?

-We are condemning the criminal and barbaric Israeli armyâ€™s attack on peaceful freedom convoy carrying humanitarian aid to the occupied and blockaded Gaza. This was a symbolic convoy of peace created by different people coming from different countries. It should be welcomed friendly. They have to give a chance of free and democratic elections to the Palestinians, who live in these lands as displaced persons or live in exile abroad. Human rights are violated in the region where this regime is dominating. The same situation is observed in Nagorno Karabakh too. If Nagorno Karabakh conducts elections, it should be within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. This problem can be solved only after returning of displaced Azerbaijanis to their homeland. Palestinian refugees should also return home. All countries, including Iran, Azerbaijan, Western countries, even those, who support Israel, condemned the attack on convoy of freedom. This is barbarism. This action unveiled Israeli regime. This regime is like a cancer and it should be amputated that to give to the mankind to breath freely.
