Ganira Pashayeva calls on Doha Forum participants to increase support for Azerbaijan

The parliamentarian mentioned that Armenia pursued aggressive policy, occupied 20 percent of the Azerbaijani territories, as a result of it one million Azerbaijanis had been displaced.

Ganira Pashayeva said as a result of the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia one in nine Azerbaijanis was IDP. She added that Armenia destroyed the Azerbaijanisâ€™ houses, schools, educational institutions, historical and cultural monuments in the occupied territories. She called on the participants not to be indifferent to the life of one million people, to increase efforts for their returning to their native lands and support for Azerbaijan.

Underlining that Armenia ignored the four resolutions of the UN, resolutions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Organization of Islamic Conference and other international organizations, the parliamentarian stated that the international community must increase pressure on Armenia for the withdrawal of its troops from the occupied territories.

The participants addressing the summit supported Azerbaijanâ€™s fair position and emphasized the importance of liberation of Azerbaijani lands from occupation, return of internally displaced persons and refugees to their homeland, increasing of efforts by the international community and organizations towards the settlement of the conflict.

Books and other materials prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation about the Azerbaijani realities, Armenian vandalism in the occupied Azerbaijani lands, Khojaly genocide were introduced to the forum participants.

The forum is organized by the Qatarâ€™s Foreign Ministry, Qatar University Public and Economic Research Center and Business Union of this country. It was dedicated to the international dialogue about the prospects of the development of economic, social and humanitarian cooperation.
