Richard Morningstar: Azerbaijan continues to play an important role in the energy projects

APA reports that Secretary of State’s Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstar made a report at the roundtable. He gave information about the Eurasia energy strategy of the US, prospects of cooperation in this field. Richard Morningstar said the US supports the energy projects that will ensure Europeâ€™s energy security. He expressed his confidence that the South corridor project will be implemented and underlined that Azerbaijan will play an important role in this project.
â€œAzerbaijan continues to play an important role in the energy projects,â€ he said.
The US official said Turkmenistanâ€™s participation in these projects is also desirable.
â€œIraq can also be supplier in these projects, as regards Iran the position of the US remains unchanged. We do not think that Iran can participate in the South corridor project,â€ he said.
The representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Azerbaijan, parliamentarians, political analysts and experts attended the roundtable.
