Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy holds Advanced Foreign Service Program graduation ceremony

APA reports that Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, representatives of state and private bodies, ambassadors attended the ceremony. Rector of ADA, Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev made a keynote speech at the ceremony. He said it was a great event that the graduation ceremony coincided with the Azerbaijan Republic Day and congratulated the participants on the holiday. Elmar Mammadyarov said the training of the new generation of diplomats would serve to defend Azerbaijan’s national interests abroad more professionally.

Advanced Foreign Service Program is a six-month training course for diplomats and civil servants. The participants attended the lectures on international relations, international law, public diplomacy, consular service, international economics and other areas, improved their communication, presentation and debate skills. 14 of the students have been granted one-month internships at Azerbaijani embassies in Spain, US, UK, Austria, Germany and Czech Republic.

Short documentary films promoting Azerbaijan made by the students of the Advanced Foreign Service Program were screened and graduation certificates were presented at the end of the ceremony. About 120 civil servants have participated in the training courses through the Advanced Foreign Service Program within the past four years. Present 29 graduates are the young specialists of the Foreign Ministry, Transport Ministry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, State Oil Company, State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Problems, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies and Azerigazbank.
