The United Nations stated non-recognition the results of the «parliamentary elections» held by the separatist regime in Nagorno Garabagh region of Azerbaijan

Baku – APA. The UN headquarter, situated in New York, sent a letter to the permanent mission stating UN Secretary General’s position concerning the so-called "parliamentary elections", held on May 23, 2010, in the occupied Nagorno Garabagh region of Azerbaijan Republic, APA reports quoting the press release of the Permanent mission of Azerbaijan Republic to the United Nations.
In the letter the Azerbaijan party is assured that «in connection with the parliamentary elections, held on May 23, 2010, in Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan Republic», the United Nations are not involved in it. Thereby, it’s underlined the non-recognition by UN the results of the illegal "elections", which don’t have any legal validity, and unequivocally proves a fact that the Nagorno Garabagh region is a component of Azerbaijan Republic.
The secretary-general «with content marks also the recent dynamics of the Nagorno Garabagh peaceful process based on OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’ proposals» and «pins his hopes on that Armenia and Azerbaijan will succeed in usage this opportunity and achieve the progress in conflict solution».
Besides the abovementioned, on the basis of Permanent mission’s statement, sent to UN secretary-general, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic, in connection with the held so-called "parliamentary elections" in the occupied Nagorno Garabagh region of Azerbaijan, has published and disseminated a statement, dated from May 14, 2010, as the official document of General Assembly and Security Council of the United Nations.
