The initiators of the Eastern Partnership Program, Poland and Sweden aim to create conditions for every country to be member of the European Union”, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski told journalists, APA correspondent reports from Poland. “We don’t see our neighbors as the neighbors of European continent, but as the neighbors of the European Union. WE aim to make them close to the democratic values. They have to be close to European standards not only in the economic and commercial fields, but in the issues of democracy and human rights as well”.

Radoslaw Sikorski said Hungary would take over the EU Presidency next year. “The summit and prime ministers’ meeting are planned to be held there. Poland will take over the presidency in the second half of next year and we are planning to organize a number of important meetings during our presidency”.

Representative of the Polish foreign minister for the Eastern Partnership issues Andrzej Tseskowski said it was proposed last year to hold visa negotiations with all countries simultaneously. “It is common subject of the bilateral negotiations to ease visa regime and progress in this field is possible only after certain agreements.
