The President of Beşiktaş club, Serdal Adalı, made a statement regarding the situation that has arisen with the team’s key player, Rafa Silva, APA reports.
Serdal Adalı said that after Rafa Silva was substituted in the 83rd minute of the Başakşehir match, his manager requested a meeting: "He came, we talked. After a while, we met with Rafa. We wanted to resolve the issue between ourselves without escalating, and we worked hard for it. During the meeting with us, Rafa said that he had no problems with anyone and wanted to leave football. After a while, he changed his mind and said that he had worked with three presidents and four head coaches since he arrived. Would I want one of my best players to leave before the transfer window opened? I wanted him to play and train until the transfer window. Rafa has not taken any positive steps in this regard yet."
The president of Beşiktaş also revealed that Rafa Silva's manager made them an offer: "Rafa's manager made us a ridiculous offer to bring 3,000,000 euros and let him leave the team. This is Beşiktaş, if someone wants to leave, Beşiktaş will set the conditions. If necessary, we will pay Rafa and he will stay here. If he wants to come and train and play immediately, the pitch is here. No one can walk out the door and say, 'I'm leaving.' No one can show such disrespect to Beşiktaş."
