Belgium qualified for the last 16 at the Euro 2024 after a goalless draw with Ukraine in their third game in Group E, APA reports citing BBN.
Despite being favorites to win their group before the tournament began, the Red Devils made hard work of their campaign, but managed to finish the group stage in second place, behind Romania. All four teams ended the group stage with four points, with Belgium and Romania having the same goal difference but the latter coming out on top due to scoring more goals. Slovakia was third and Ukraine had to bow out of the event, coming in fourth.
Belgium will have to up their game in the knockout stages as they face France, still seen as one of the favorites to win the whole tournament, in the last 16.
