Offered to hold annual meeting of EBRD Board of Governors in Baku

According to APA-Economics, Mustafayev has informed about Azerbaijan successes during the last decade, socio-economic development of the regions, achievements in non-oil sector, implementing projects, purposed state programs and other.

Mustafayev said that he appreciates the support of bank to different projects, especially private sector. It was noted that EBRD has allocated $2.1 bln to Azerbaijan within 134 projects. Bank’s activity in Azerbaijan covered infrastructure, energy, water supply, information-communication technologies, industry and tourism, participation in share package, direct financial support to the private sector and etc.

EBRD has allocated $1.4 bln to 125 projects in private sector.

It was noted that the country pays attention to the development of corporate management, importance of transition to corporate management standards in business development, stimulation direct foreign investments, cooperation with the EBRD is expedient.

Noting Azerbaijan’s experience in the holding of large events, Mustafayev offered to hold the annual meeting of EBRD Board of Governors in Baku in 2017.

EBRD President Chakrabarti appreciated Azerbaijan’s successes during last decade, works conducted for diversification of economy and results on poverty reduction. HE also noted that he supports conformation of development concept “Azerbaijan-2020: outlook for the future” with the development priorities of the economy, cooperation on extension of corporate management.

Chakrabarti suggested to hold Azerbaijani days in the headquarters of the EBRD and expressed satisfaction with the suggestion of Azerbaijani side on holding of annual meeting of EBRD Board of Governors in Baku.
