I European-Azerbaijani Investment Conference held in Baku - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

The conference was held by joint organization of Azerbaijani-German Chamber of Commerce, AZPROMO, Association of European Chambers and support of the Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sevinj Hasanova stressed that expansion of cooperation with the EU is the main direction of the foreign policy of Azerbaijan.

“At present, Azerbaijan plays an active role in ensuring the energy security of Europe. Azerbaijan's economic development has created opportunities for investments for a number of countries, including the EU. Some Azerbaijani companies have already made investments in Europe, has successfully participated in various projects”.

Talking about the economy of Azerbaijan, Hasanova said that over the past 10 years, the GDP increased by 3.4 times, strategic currency reserves are close to $50 billion, nearly $132 billion was invested in the country’s economy. The achievements are highly recognized by the international organizations.

The newly-appointed German ambassador to Azerbaijan Heidrun Tempel, the acting head of the EU mission to Azerbaijan Toralf Pilz, Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry Birgit Arens spoke about prospects of expanding the cooperation between Europe and Azerbaijan.

The main theme of the event was to study the potential and prospects of investments in Azerbaijan's economy - in the sphere of agriculture, information and communication sector, eco-friendly construction, the possibility of the development for small and medium-sized enterprises, the ability to export to the European countries and etc.
