The minister also spoke about insurance market. To him, volume of insurance premiums on insurance contracts made AZN 342.5 mln in 2012, up 6 times from 2003: ‘Thus, average amount of insurance premiums er capita has hit AZN 37, up 5.3 times from 2003”.

Sharifov stressed that total capital of insurers reached AZN 294.0 mln at the end of 2012, 16 times higher from 2003: “In 2012, the number of people, insured for life, health and ability to work made 1.719 mln, up 254,000 or 17% from 2011. Last year, the number of cars, insured in a voluntary and compulsory way, was above 1 mln. 233,845 houses, apartments and non-residential areas were insured on property insurance in 2012”.

FinMinister noted that in 2012, insurance companies made a payment worth AZN 93.9 mln, 6.3 times higher than the analogical indicator of 2003.
