EU and Azerbaijan sign financial agreement on Action Plan - <span style="color: red;">PHOTO

According to Ministry of Economic Development, Mustafayev has held meetings with the EC Vice-President, EU Commissioner responsible for Transport Siim Kallas, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule and Vice President of the European Investment Bank Wilhelm Molterer.

 

At the meeting with Kallas, Mustafayev underlined importance of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project informing about transport projects implemented in Azerbaijan and region. Moreover, Mustafayev also said that full regional development is possible after liberation of Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenians.

 

Mentioning stabilizing role of Azerbaijan in the region, Commissioner Kallas said that EU supports Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.

 

In the meeting with S. Fule, current situation and development perspectives of Azerbaijan-EU relations, extension of cooperation links were discussed. Fule stressed that Azerbaijan is an independent and reliable partner for EU and it supports Azerbaijan territorial integrity. 

 

Fule especially underlined contributions of visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Brussels in June to EU-Azerbaijan relations.

 

In turn, Mustafayev spoke about investments of EU countries in Azerbaijan’s economy. He also noted that the future development of the region depends on settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict on the basis of international law, as well as relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council.  

 

During the meeting, Mustafayev and Fule have signed Financial Agreement on EU-Azerbaijan Action Plan. 

 

At the same time, Mustafayev and Molterer have signed Frame Agreement regulating EIB’s activity in Azerbaijan.
