Azerbaijan sees 36% growth in bank savings

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of June 1, 2013 the savings in Azerbaijan-based credit organizations made AZN 11,434.8 mln, up AZN 1,550.3 mln or 15.7% compared to a year earlier, AZN 735.6 mln or 6.9% from early 2013 .

AZN 5,891.5 mln or 51.5% of savings was household deposits. The deposits soared AZN 1,549.5 mln or 35.7% in comparison to a year ago, including AZN 778.1 mln or 15.2% - compared to the beginning of the year.

At the same time, legal entities’ deposits stood at AZN 5,543.4 mln, up AZN 0.6 mln or 0.01% from a year ago, down AZN 42.5 mln or 0.8% from early 2013.

In legal entities’ deposits, AZN 2,653.3 mln or 47.9% belonged to financial organizations, AZN 2,890.1 mln or 52.1% - to non-financial organizations.
