Bank deposits increase by 18% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of September 1, 2013 the deposits in Azerbaijan-based credit organizations made AZN 11,661.5 mln, up AZN 1,783.2 mln or 18.1% compared with a year earlier. At the same time, the deposits rose AZN 962.3 mln or 9.0% compared to early 2013.

AZN 4,090.4 mln or 52.2% of deposits was household deposits. The deposits soared AZN 1,627.8 mln or 36.5% year-on-year, AZN 977.0 mln or 19.1%, from beginning of the year.

At the same time, juridical persons’ deposits stood at AZN 5,571.1 mln, up AZN 155.3 mln or 2.9% from a year ago, AZN 14.8 mln or 0.3$ from early year.

In juridical persons’ deposits, AZN 2,931.3 mln or 52.6% belonged to financial organizations (up AZN 321.0 mln or 12.3%), AZN 2,639.8 mln or 48.4% - to non-financial organizations (down AZN 165.7 mln or 5.9%).
