RSI index falls in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. Retail Sales Index (RSI) made 80.6% in April, 2013, down 42.7 percentage points compared to March.

RSI is calculated as a comparison between the sales value and previous month’s indexes. Total retail turnover made AZN 1,356.4 mln in April and AZN 1,683.8 mln in March.

As it seems, the index dropped to below 100%, which shows that retail trade dropped in monthly comparison. In March, the volume of retail trade rose 23.3%.

In general, the retail trade annually rose 9.4% in January-April. Besides, average monthly retail trade turnover in 2013 was equal to AZN 1.472 bln, while it was AZN 1.472 bln in 2012. So, 0.6% growth is observed on this index.
