Bank deposits rise 12% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of April 1, 2013 the deposits in Azerbaijan-based credit organizations made AZN 11,012.7 mln, up AZN 1,216.2 mln or 12.4% compared with a year earlier, as well as AZN 313.5 mln or 2.9% from early 2013.

AZN 5,536.0 mln or 50.3% of deposits were household deposits. The deposits soared AZN 1,237.1 mln or 28.8% year-on-year, AZN 422.3 mln or 8.3% - compared early year.

At the same time, legal entities’ deposits stood at AZN 5,476.8 mln, down AZN 20.7 mln or 0.4% from a year ago, AZN 109.1 mln or 2.0% from the beginning of this year. In October, these deposits dropped AZN 12.0 mln or 2.0%.

In the legal entities’ deposits, AZN 2,605.4 mln or 47.6% belonged financial organizations, AZN 2,871.4 mln or 52.4% - to non-financial organizations.
