Amrahbank to issue MasterCard cards next year

Baku. Elnur Huseynquluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based Amrahbank plans to issue 10 000 MasterCard cards from January, 2009.
The bankâ€™s plastic cards officer Elshen Jafarov said cards will be issued in batches as part of the bankâ€™s card and deposit products campaign for next year.
Cards are being designed by AustriaCard office in Baku and will be issued by AzeriCard Processing Center.
70% of the cards will be debit and 30% will be credit cards.
As of October 1, Amrahbankâ€™s assets stood at AZN 65.073 million, loan portfolio at AZN 48.914 million, deposit portfolio at AZN 36.187 million, total capital at AZN 21.884 million and authorized capital went at AZN 12.821 million.
Owned by 5 individuals, Amrahbank has been in operation since 1993.
The bank operates 23 branches, 2 bureau de change, 11 ATMs and 42 POS terminals.
