Azerbaijan boosts export by 9-fold

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover with 135 nations during January-September totaled $44.2 billion, including exports of $39 billion (88.2%) and imports of $5.2 billion (11.8%), said the State Statistical Committee.
The trade surplus was $33.74 billion.
Compared to the same period last year, foreign trade turnover rose 5.4 times, imports rose 33.8% and exports increased by 9-fold.
Azerbaijan carried out 53% of the trade with the European Union, 6.8% with the CIS countries and 40.2% with other countries.
During this period the country’s main trade partners in imports and exports included Italy (35.6%), the United States (11.4%), Israel (6.9%), India (4.7%), France (4.5%), Russia (3.1%), Spain (2.8%), the Netherlands (2.7%), the United Kingdom (2.6%), Turkey (2.6%), Indonesia (2.5%), Chile (1.9%) and other countries (18.7%).
