Baku. Nijat Mustafayev –APA-Economics. Peter Thomson, Director of Infrastructure Sector in the Europe and Central Asia Region of the World Bank has held press conference on outcomes of the visit, APA –Economics reports
Mr.Thomson noted that during one-week visit he had several meetings with government representatives and discussed issues on new cooperation plan. He added that he familiarized with measures taken in Shamakhi within the framework of project on national water supply and sewage services and oil polluted territories in Absheron peninsula.
Mr.Thomson added that WB will further expand relations with Azerbaijan.
“World Bank allocated $60.mln to Azerbaijan several years ago, but now it amounts $1.2 billion for implementation of 11 projects,†he said. WB intends to expand cooperation program with Azerbaijan within several years.
Azerbaijan has cooperated with WB since 1992.
