Azerbaijanâ€™s budget surplus up more 50%

According to the report, the budget expenditure reached AZN 4 276,7 mln, down 3.6% from a year ago. Budget surplus made AZN 646 million, accounting for 3.3% of GDP. Budget surplus is up 52.3% from a year ago. Expenditure went AZN 1 633.4 mln (38.2%) to development of the national economy, AZN 610.8 mln (14.3%) to social protection and security and AZN 513.2 mln (12%) to education and healthcare.

Tax incomes came 18.6% or AZN 915.4 mln from VAT, 14.8% or AZN 728.5 mln from corporate profit tax, AZN 273.7 mln or 5.5% from income tax, AZN 185.5 mln or 3.8% from excise tax and AZN 64.8 mln or 1.3% from foreign mining tax..

Salaries earned by the population accounted for 33.5% (AZN 1 432.5 mln) of the total expenditure.
