Bank credits increases 37% in the past year in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s commercial banks gave AZN 8 840.7 million credits to July 1, 2010 raising its volume by 36.8% in comparison with the last year’s statistics.
Sources at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan told APA-Economics that domestic farms (consumer credit loans) take most part of the credit portfolio. It was 28.4% to July 1, 2010. This figure was reduced 6.3% throughout the year. Totally the consumer credit loans increased 11.8% to AZN 2 507.8 million in the past year. Commercial fields and services keep the second place for its volume in the credit portfolio 922.8%).
A sharp growth rate was observed in the fields of energy, chemistry and natural resources. AZN 1.4 billion credits were given to this field raising it 15.8%.
