Azerbaijan intends to invest in Pakistan

Baku – APA-Economics. The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov emphasized that his country, given its huge oil and gas reserve was destined to play an important role in the overall development of the region and beyond. He said that Azerbaijan was keen to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
On bilateral relations, Foreign Minister of Pakistan Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi noted that while the political relationship between the two countries was very strong, economic and commercial relations notably lagged behind. The current volume of bilateral trade to the tune of $ 11 million was not commensurate with the intense political warmth that existed between the two countries, he added.
The two Foreign Ministers agreed that at the next session of the Joint Ministerial Commission, which was to be held in Baku, they should consider all aspects of bilateral relations and look into opportunities for cooperation in non-traditional areas.
