If Putin had come to Türkiye, we would have had real opportunities to end the war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during the first plenary session held in Tirana within the framework of the 6th Summit of the European Political Community, APA reports.
"This war — Russia's war against Ukraine — must end as soon as possible, Ukraine needs peace. If Putin had not hesitated to come to Türkiye this week, we would have had real opportunities to end this war. I was ready for a direct meeting with Putin in Istanbul or Ankara — not just for a meeting, but to resolve all the key issues. However, he did not agree to anything. As you can see, Russia has sent a very low-level delegation to Istanbul," Zelensky said.
