Turkey’s ambassador to Georgia said on Friday that if last year’s coup attempt in his country had succeeded, this would have led to a breakdown in stability throughout the region.
Georgia, a strategic partner of Turkey, was quick to offer full support to Turkey when the coup attempt took place, Ambassador Zeki Levent Gumrukcu told a press conference in Tbilisi, APA’s Georgia bureau reported.
"After an unsuccessful coup attempt, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili made one of the first official visits to Turkey. The Turkish people will never forget this support," the diplomat added.
