European Union leaders have discussed support to Ukraine and reconstruction of the country, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the EU Commission said in a post on her X account.
Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that good discussion made today with European leaders on our support to Ukraine, its security, and the reconstruction of the country.
"Ultimately, the prosperity of a free Ukrainian state lies in the accession to the EU," she added.
At the same time, President of the EU Commission stressed that Ukraine's accession to the EU is also a key security guarantee in its own right.
According to her accession doesn’t only benefit countries that join; as the successive waves of enlargement show, the whole of Europe benefits.
