Intense fighting continues in the border area of the Sumy region. Russian forces are attempting to push Ukrainian troops out of the Kursk region, according to a Facebook post by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, APA reports citing RBC Ukraine.
According to Syrskyi, the Russian troops have received orders from their command to push Ukrainian forces out of the Kursk region and seize border areas of the Sumy region.
"The implementation of the aggressor’s plan is being thwarted by our units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which once again disrupted the enemy’s offensive in this direction with their active actions," Syrskyi wrote.
He noted that he is currently working in the Sumy direction to gain a detailed understanding of the situation in the brigades holding the line there. He is also there to assist commanders in organizing combat operations and to resolve any pressing issues.
