Russia is spreading fabricated information about the alleged attack on Putin's residence in order to evade peace talks, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, said in an X post, APA reports.

According to him, due to the recent active efforts of Ukraine and the United States, progress toward peace has accelerated, and it is precisely for this reason that Russia has created a false pretext to withdraw from negotiations.

“The Russians invented this mystification about an attack on the residence for exactly this reason. Their goal was to create a false and extremely careless justification for abandoning peace initiatives,” Tykhyi emphasized.

Note that, according to Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, an alleged attempt by Ukraine to carry out a UAV (drone) attack on Vladimir Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region is being described as a terrorist act.
