The Taliban government is in talks with Turkey and Qatar on the permanent operation of four Afghan airports, said Taliban's Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Imamaddin, Ahmadi, APA reports.

"The Turkish-Qatar technical delegation arrived in Kabul on Thursday and met with our technical specialists. These discussions will continue and an agreement will be reached in the coming days, taking into account the national interests of our country," Ahmadi told the local Tolo News channel.

Anadolu Agency reported on December 24 that Turkey and Qatar had reached an agreement with the Taliban to operate five Afghan airports.

As a result of the chaos and terrorist attack last August, the runway and the building of Kabul airport were severely damaged. At the end of August, the airport was restored due to the efforts of Turkish and Qatari engineers.

Currently, only five of Afghanistan's 24 airports operate international flights.
