The body of the last person who drowned after a car fell into the Kura River in Tbilisi has been found, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports citing Georgia’s Emergency Management Service.
It was stated that as a result of the ongoing search operations, the body of young Giorgi Shamugia, who died in the river together with his friends during the car accident, has been found.
Recal that the incident occurred on May 14. A Mercedes car with 4 people inside collided with a Ford and fell into the Kura River. Rescuers were able to immediately pull one of the four individuals from the water. While the bodies of two of the young people involved in the accident were found, the search for the third continued. In order to locate the bodies, the water level in the Kura was artificially lowered. As a result, the body of Aytaj Mammadova from the village of Kosali in the Gardabani district, who was reported to have committed suicide one month ago, was also discovered.
