The number of Azerbaijani citizens held in prisons in Georgia stands at 161, stated in the February report of Georgia’s National Statistics Office, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to the report, 53 of them are accused persons, including 49 men and 4 women, while 108 are convicted individuals, including 94 men and 14 women.
In addition, 77 Azerbaijani citizens are under probation supervision in the neighboring country.
A total of 1,659 citizens from 63 countries are serving prison sentences in Georgia. Citizens of Türkiye (539 people) and Russia (189 people) rank first among them. Meanwhile, 670 citizens from 47 countries are under probation supervision.
