Members of the Executive Committee of Gagauzia believe that the parliament needs to demand from Chisinau the release of Eugenia Gutul, APA reports citing Pravda Moldova.
The appeal is published on the website of the Government of Gagauzia.
"We urge you to demand from the ruling party (ruling Action and Solidarity party) to stop political repression against the official representatives of the autonomy's authorities and demand the freedom of the head of the autonomous territorial region of Gagauzia, Eugenia Gutul," the appeal says.
It is also mentioned that members of the executive committee of Gagauzia call Moldova's actions "an outright act of political repression."
Earlier it was reported that the head of the Gagauz Autonomy was detained at the Chisinau airport.
