Bidzina Ivanishvili, honorary chairman of Georgia's ruling "Georgian Dream" party, has rejected a meeting request from US Ambassador Robin Dunnigan, US Embassy in Georgia released information on the matter, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.
According to the embassy, Dunnigan had requested a meeting with Ivanishvili on May 22 at the suggestion of Secretary of State Antony Blinken, but Ivanishvili declined to meet with the ambassador.
Recall that US Ambassador Robin Dunnigan did not participate in the military parade held in Tbilisi on May 26 to mark Georgia's Independence Day. The embassy explained this absence by stating that the diplomat was not in Tbilisi at the time.
