French President Emmanuel Macron expressed doubt that the United States had truly achieved the goals it set for itself when it joined Israel in the war against Iran, APA reports.
Speaking on France 2, Macron recalled that disagreements with Iran have been ongoing for many years, and the Americans resorted to military action "because they were not satisfied with the progress of the negotiations." However, if the goal was to destroy their nuclear potential, then a corresponding operation had already been carried out in the spring of 2025. "The main question now is whether to dilute the enriched uranium on site or transport it somewhere under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency," the president said.
"Regarding the second goal, one could say that they intended to destroy [Iran's] entire missile potential. That's essentially what they did. But the US didn't declare, 'The war is over, we've succeeded,'" Macron recalled.
