Former Prosecutor General of Georgia charged with organizing murder

Former Prosecutor General of Georgia Otar Partskhaladze has been brought to justice in the murder of Levan Jangveladze, said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Aleksandre Darakhvelidze at a briefing, APA's local bureau reports.

According to him, the investigation revealed that Partskhaladze, as the head of a criminal group, led the premeditated murder of Levan Jangveladze.

The former Prosecutor General is accused of organizing premeditated murder. This criminal act is punishable by 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia will apply to the court within the period established by law for the selection of a preventive measure against Partskhaladze, and an international search will be declared for him.

It should be noted that Levan Jangveladze was a businessman and was murdered in Tbilisi on March 14 of this year. He was the brother of criminal authority Merab Sukhumski.

It should be noted that Otar Partskhaladze took up the post of Prosecutor General of Georgia in 2013. He was appointed to this position on November 7 of that year and resigned on December 30.
