A pre-trial detention measure in absentia has been imposed on Georgia’s former Prosecutor General, Otar Partskhaladze, APA’s local bureau reports.
The verdict was announced by the Tbilisi City Court.
Partskhaladze, a Russian citizen, is accused of organizing the murder of businessman Levan Changveladze. He is currently in Russia.
His lawyer stated that the defendant does not accept the charges.
It is noted that Levan Changveladze was murdered in Tbilisi on March 14 of this year. Gela Udzilauri, who was accused of committing the murder, was sentenced to life imprisonment in October.
Recall that Otar Partskhaladze briefly held the position of Georgia’s Prosecutor General in 2013.
