European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Argentinian President Alberto Fernandez signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding focusing on sustainable raw materials value chains, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The agreement is expected to foster cooperation on environmentally friendly infrastructure projects and spur new research. "It is a big step forward for the EU's climate ambitions and it is beneficial to Argentina as a key global player in the clean energy transition," Von der Leyen stressed.
The leader of the European Union's executive branch is expected to speak at the EU-Argentina Business Forum in Buenos Aires later today and provide further details on the bilateral cooperation between Argentina and the bloc.
