Erdogan: We will not leave Ahmed Al-Sharaa alone in Syria

"Turkiye does not want Syria to be divided," said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.

He noted that the position of Syrian interim President Ahmed Al-Sharaa during the recent Israeli attacks should be positively assessed: "We are determined. We will not leave Ahmed Al-Sharaa alone in Syria. We do not want Syria to be divided, and we see the restoration of Syria as a positive development for our country. Because the restoration of Syria will also have a positive impact on our relations with them."

Erdogan also said that Syria's position created conditions for the process in the south of the country to continue cautiously.

"Syria is expected to take control of the region with approximately 2,500 soldiers. They secured control with the latest steps. Thus, dominance has been established in the south. The Syrian people, with all their layers, have learned from the suffering they suffered in the past and do not want to fall for these tricks. They have achieved reconciliation between the Druze and the rest of the population," he mentioned.
