“We expect the European Union not to undermine the nature of our trade relations and to remain committed to its partnership obligations," said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan while announcing the country’s export figures for 2025, APA reports.
Erdoğan stated that Türkiye’s EU membership issue should be resolved without delay: “We hope that the European Council will take the necessary decision and begin negotiations with our country without further delay. We are closely monitoring the protectionist measures and legal preparatory processes implemented by our European friends in certain areas within the framework of economic security. We expect the European Union not to undermine the essence of trade between us and to remain faithful to its partnership commitments.”
