The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued arrest warrants for 47 suspects as part of four separate investigations related to a corruption case launched against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.
In line with the decision, 28 suspects, including former CHP MP Aykut Erdoğdu and Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara, were detained in a simultaneous operation carried out by the police.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that 3 individuals are abroad, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend 13 fugitive suspects.
