MHP members have clash in Gars, 1 was killed

The cause of the incident was divergence in MHP on the eve of the local elections. A man called Metin Ozad wanted to be candidate of MHP from Gars, but couldnâ€™t do it. Later, he wanted to put forward his candidacy from Democrat Party, but the local election commission did not register ex-prisoner Ozadâ€™s candidacy. In the elections Ozad supported AKPâ€™s candidate Nevzat Bozkush, not MHPâ€™s candidate Settar Kaya. On March 29, Bozkush was elected head of municipality with a difference of 736 votes. Angry MHP members accused the Ozads of the failure and quarreled with Metin Ozadâ€™s brother Isa Ozad. The quarrel then turned to armed clash and Ozad was shot. The police wanted to arrest former chairman of Gars circles Kurshat Bagish, Bagish attempted to flee, but was shot by the police in the leg. The clash continued after the wounded were taken to hospital. 4 were wounded. Isa Ozad died on the way to Erzurum. The police arrested 13 people, 8 pistols and a knife was found on them. Security measures have been strengthened in Gars.
